Designer Kubo
This collection is my visual play on the traditional Filipino Home, bahay kubo (traditional nipa hut).
The process here is fun because I get to focus on the general massing of the parts and shapes to find that balance of color and form, similar to the early concept stages of architectural design for facades and elevations.

Vendors
This series sprang from a commissioned set for the 25th floor hallway of Fairmont Residences in Makati City, Manila.
The Philippines has a lot of street vendors ranging from food to household items.

Nature
These swirl trees are reminiscent of the capiz lanterns that adorn houses in Manila. As a child, I have always wanted to have a huge tree with these glowing lights in my own yard. It shone through my first solo exhibit in 2007. From there, I developed variant hues and forest collections, bearing these swirl trees.

Whalesharks
The majestic whaleshark has always been an inspiration to me since I was little. The undersea landscape also intrigues me. This series is a marriage of the two, showing whimsical seabeds adorned with corals and its inhabitants.

Castles and Geometricscapes
Initially inspired by the old Filipino story, Ibong Adarna, which is set in a castle designed with Moorish influences, this set expands the idea of castle architecture. In this set, the structure blends it with its exterior castle grounds, yeilding to a visual play of geometric forms and simplified landscapes.
